Trouble with self repeat

Postby dem1980 » Thu 19. Jul 2012, 20:10

Hello,

i have a brand new IRTrans Ethernet with DB.
I have trouble with the Self Repeat function.
The device i want to control is a CanalSat LeCube (first model).
I have learnt commands and it works nice with link like
Code: Select all
http://192.168.1.25/send.htm?remote=lecube&command=9
.
But when i using the Self repeat with the same button 9 (for example), i have to push it several times before the device receives the command.
Can i setup Self Repeat to make it working better ?
I am using Plasma shield receiver and 2X external IR transmitter (i don't use internal leds).

I have learnt the button 9 more than one time and i have differents IR codes :
[TIMING]
[9][N]5[1]344 192[2]344 400[3]608 136[4]608 384[5]608 88784[RC]1[RP]0[FREQ]38

Why IR codes are so different for the same button ?
How can i have the best IR code ?

Thank you

Hi,
in general Self Repeat is a quite critical thing because the IRTrans needs to receive the IR Code very precisely even if distance and noise are disturbing the transmission. Furthermore the code has to suitable for that - that means it has to be an IR Code that the internal receiver can receive correctly. In general the internal IR Receiver can only receive IR Codes with a pulse and pause length > 200µs correctly under all circumstances.

It works well with most IR Codes, however we cannot guarantee that it works with any IR Code. With your IR Codes the short pauses seem to be the problem.

You could learn the IR Codes and then use a different remote control together with the IRTrans IR Translation feature to control your STB.

Thank you, Self Repeat works Nice now.
There is only one usage that i would like to solve.

With my AV receiver, directly with the original remote, when i push volume up once, the volume increase by 0.5 dB.
When i push a few seconds the button, volume increase continualy, it is very fast to increase.

With the Self Repeat fonction and the original remote, when i push volume up once, the volume increase by 0.5 dB.
When i push a few seconds the button, volume increase by 0.5 dB.
If i want the volume increase by more than 0.5 dB, i have to push it several times. It is very slow to increase.
There is way to solve this problem ?

Thank you

Hi,
it is not possible to solve this problem.

The reason is that the fast increase is triggered if many repeat codes arrive within a short timeframe. As the IRTrans has to receive the IR code first and then send it again it will always be slower. Therefore the fast increase does not work.
