IP to IR, but IR to IR ?

Postby dem1980 » Mon 25. Jun 2012, 13:31

Hello,

i would like to know if an IRTrans (LAN DB in my case) could be used as an IR relay.
For exemple, i would like to use this config, if it works :
- IRT-RCV (or IRT-RCV-PLA ) - external receivers : it could received IR signals from remotes which are bundle with AV hardware (bluray player, AV receiver,...),if my IP controller is broken for example
- IRT-LAN-DB : if an IR (send from the original remote) is received from external receiver (with is 5-6 meter away), then all external transmitters will transmet IR , if the IRTrans receive an order from IP command, it will worked as usually
- IRT-TRANS-6K to transmit IR from IR ou IP to AV hardware

This configuation works ? Or the external receivers are only for learn fonction ? Could we plug external receiver AND external transmitter ?
Edit : in others words, is the IRTrans "IR passthrough" ?

Thank you

Hi,
this configuration will work if you enable the "Self Repeat" setting in the IRTrans Device settings.

You can use external receivers and transmitters at the same time, no problem.

Please note that it will only be possible to receive and relay IR Codes with a frequency of around 38 kHz (36-40kHz).

so your product is better than the concurrent ;)
What is the delay added to the original IR code when the transmitter send it ?

Hi,
in general our devices do have the most comprehensive features of all devices ...

The only delay that is added is the length of the IR Code itself. Our device needs to receive the IR Code first and then send it again.
The typical length of an IR code is 200-300ms.
