IRTrans won't change channels on my set top box

I bought an IRTrans to use with my EyeTV. I tested the iRed software by making a virtual remote control for my stereo and that worked fine. I then tried it on my set top box and ran into some trouble. I'm using a Time Warner cable box. (Pioneer BR-360 according to the remote) iRed learns the codes but when I test them nothing happens. I've changed the frequency to all the available presets and tried learning the raw codes. Any advice on what I need to do?

Well, at least the IRTrans flashes red on transmission, did'nt it?

Could you please send me the virtual remote file containing the IR codes? It's a plain file with extension "iredrc". Send it to info(at)tinb.de, and I'll have a look at the codes.

Regards,

Robert, tin:b Software

Yes, it did flash. Sorry for not making myself clearer. I meant nothing happens with my cable box as far as a response. The device learns the codes but when they're transmitted back during testing they don't seem to have any affect. I sent the remote file you asked for. Thanks for taking the time to look it over for me. I hope it's just some error on my part and not some bigger issue

Hi guys,

was this issue ever resolved?

I ran into the same behaviour with a Thomson DCI62UPC set-top-box.

Thanks
Markus

Hi,
that is no general issue - sometimes there are IR Codes using unusual frequencies or codings.

Devices with Universal learning receivers are more flexible here as they can measure all frequencies.

To see what the problem is we will need a remote definition file.

My issue was resolved when they offered a virtual remote for a slightly different model that worked. I just never got the chance to properly thank tinbert for the help. :) Thanks, guys!

Moin, moin,

my IRTrans Ethernet does have the universal learning receiver and I tried all frequencies in the IR-settings - to no avail.

Since I'm on a Mac I don't know how to pull the rem-file. Can you tell from iRed Touch's XML-file? If yes, it can be found here:

http://plutonika.com/remotes/73460E59-F ... 0B15E3.xml

Since this is a multi-device remote I inserted comments where the buttons for each device start. The ones in question follow the /* STB */ comment. Please also note that not all buttons have IR-codes attached yet.

Thanks
Markus

Hi,
these are RCMM Codes. There are some RCMM codes around that use Toggle bits.

This is currently not supported by iRed / iRed touch, however Robert is working on that issue.
We hope to have a fix available within the next 1-2 weeks.
