What do I need?

Postby dsp » Thu 21. Jul 2011, 11:27

I think this should be pretty simple, but I wanted to be sure.

I have the following parts at home:
1x tv: Samsung PS51d8005
1x reciever: Pioneer VSX-921
1x pc: HTPC with remote (CIR)

I'd like to be able to control them all through my iPad, so I'm thinking I need a IR reciever that can interact with all 3 parts. So that if i want to hear music, the htpc and reciever turns on and starts etc etc.
I know I'll need some software to control all of this and have been looking at iViewer and XBMC which has the potential to do this, but what kind of hardware do I need?
Is getting 1xIRT-LAN-DB enough?

Hi,
the IRTrans LAN IRDB will be fine. In addition you will need a power supply.

You can use different SW packages on your iPad together with our SW.
We would suggest iRedTouch or Casa Remote.

Great...
I live in Denmark, will the POW-SUP be enough?

One last question, how can I be sure that my AV-devices are support in the IR Database? Is there a list somewhere, where I can see the supported devices?
Or would be easier just to get the IRT-LAN-Mod and have it learn the codes?
What I'm trying to say is that I really know what the difference between having a IR Database and not having one is...

Thanx...

Hi,
for Denmark the POW-SUP is fine.

The IRDB is not preprogrammed. It is internal flash memory to store the IR Codes. That allows to use the device without our PC SW running.
All IRTrans devices can learn the IR Codes.
