Speed up IR Signals

Hi Guys,

I have a IRTrans LAN Controller XL connected to a HD STB. When the IR signals are sent to the STB, they are too slow and they time out.
E.g, if I want to watch Channel 73, the signal for 7 is sent, followed by 3. However, the time between 7 and 3 is too long. So my the STB changes to Ch7, then Ch 3. but not CH 73.

How can I speed up the signals that are sent?

Cheers,

Hi,
that mainly depends on the client/API you use to send the IR codes. The devices itself can send the codes rather fast.

Hi,
that is not what I meant.

The speed is mainly given by the client application you are using to send your IR Codes - or do you use irremote.exe to send the IR codes ?
How do you send IR Codes ?

I'm not 100% sure how the IR Codes are sent. I'm totally new to this, how can I find out?

I can only see irserver.exe & irtranstray.exe running in Task Manager.

How do you send IR codes ? Do you click on a button or do you use your own application for that ?

The application sending the IR code sets the timing for sending them.

My Understanding is that the IRTrans has an application that send the codes. I don't press any buttons.
What would the application be? Once again, I am totally new to this. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Hi,
well, different for us to help you with that. There has to be some kind of application that sends the IR codes. The IRTrans Software itself allows to send codes - but it does not do that itself. There has to be some sort of client application that tells the IRTrans to send the IR codes. This application times the sending of the codes.

There are dozens of applications available that work together with the IRTrans. Without knowing what application you are using it is almost impossible to help you with that.

I'll investigate the timing on the application.
However, if the timing is ok on the application side. Is there a delay function in the IRTRans software that sends the codes to the Set Top Box once the codes are recieved from the application?

Hi,
there is no additional delay in the IRTrans device. It will send the next code immedately after the first code is done.
Only when you are sending macros there is a delay between the IR codes of the Macro - however that can also be changed on the client side.
