Learning iRobot Roomba IR

Postby Tozz » Thu 21. Oct 2010, 15:26

I bought a IR Roomba remote. This is not the RF remote that is shipped with the Roomba itself, it's a addon that uses IR. (I note this because I've seen some other thread mentioning that the Roomba does not have IR).

This remote works on my Roomba, but I cannot get it to work using my IRTrans. I've learned the code, and the result is:

Timing:
[8][N]2[1]1000 2920[2]2976 976[RC]2[FL]49[FREQ]38

IR:
[34][T]8[D]10001000

This IR code seems a bit short, so I guess it didn't learn it properly. However, I've tried multiple times but the code does not change.

Is it possible that the Roomba uses an IR protocol that the IRTrans does not support?

I've played some more with the remote, and the Roomba seems to behave differently when I keep pressing the remote for a longer time. I've tried learning the code while pressing the remote longer, but this does not help. (I learn the codes using HomeSeer).

Is there a special way to laern these 'different' codes?
