Cable Box Issue

Hello,

Just bought your product (LAN module) a couple of weeks ago along with iRed2. The unit works great for my Pioneer Receiver but I seem to be having trouble with the cable box. I have tried all of the available frequencies listed in iRed2 as well as trying to learn the code with the "raw" box checked. iRed2 acts as if it learned everything ok and the irTrans unit's light flashes when I use iRed to send a signal...the cable box does nothing though.

Here is my set-up:
- Cable Box is made by Scientific Atlanta (Cisco)
- Model: Explorer 8300HDC
- Remote it uses is the Synergy V

Your help would be greatly appreciated as I'd love to get this working.
Thanks
Dan

Hi Dan,
do you have a device with Learning receiver ?

I am quite sure that your Cable box uses the (rather unusual) 56kHz carrier frequency.
To learn these codes you will need a device with learning receiver.

Hello,

Thanks for the quick response. I don't know what a learning receiver is. I have your IRTRANS Ethernet MAC module..would this have the learning receiver your speaking of? If not, do you sell what I need? If so, how much does it cost? If I buy it and it doesn't to the trick can I return it?

If I need to buy something else and its reasonably priced I'd like to get it ordered today because it took awhile to get the module itself since I'm in the states.

Thanks
Dan

Hi Dan,
it is an option that can either be intergrated in the device or externally connected.
If the device has it internally there should be a sticker "COD-RCV" on the bottom.

The external one can be connected externally to the device.

If you want one please send us an Email so that we can discuss the details.
