Learning New Match Master Remote commands

Am trying to create an new remote in IR Trans for a MatchMaster HD Set top box.
Below are the steps i have followed however am always receiving a timeout error:-
1. type in remote name
2. click on create/open remote
3. timing is default
4. type in channel (0)
5. press Learn Command
6. go back to channel box, clear contents and type in (1), learn command again
i follow these steps until i get up to number 3, and then i receive a TIME OUT (3-4) error.
Am i following the wrong procedure or is there a manual that i can follow to create this remote into the IR Trans database?
