What option to choose for the receiver in Mythbuntu?

Postby jollster101 » Mon 6. Jun 2011, 06:10

Hi all

Can anybody please point me in the right direction for the option that should be chosen in Mythbuntu for the type of remote receiver when using irtrans?

Should it be a Windows MCE receiver which I think is the general one that most people seem to use? Or is there a different type that should be chosen?

I don't see irtrans as an available option so thought I would ask to ensure I hopefully get it right.

Cheers

Hi,
I am not sure about that. However, when in doubt try LIRC.

Please note that the irtrans SW has to be running.

Thanks for the reply,

Does the irtrans software start automatically when the Linux OS starts or does it need to be started manually?

If it is manually then is there something that needs to be included in a file to ensure it does start automatically when the OS boots?

With thanks for the assistance.

That has to be done manually. It is different depending on the LINUX distribution you are using.
