VFD Display Garbled

Postby mystic11 » Thu 23. Sep 2010, 14:42

I have an Origen X11 HTPC Case with an OEM VFD/IR solution from IRTrans. I am running Ubuntu 10.04.1 i386 (32 bit). I downloaded and built IRTrans Server 17.08.10 6.02.82 and IRTrans lcdproc Treiber 06.11.05. My device info from lsusb is “Bus 002 Device 003: ID 0403:fc60 Future Technology Devices International, Ltd”.

I have IR working correctly, but my VFD text is garbled. I have run the deamon in foreground with full logging and everything seems right, but the display is always wrong. I’ve tried sending text from both irclient and lcdproc client. Neither work correctly.

Where do I go from here?

No idea. I suppose that this is a hardware problem.

Can I get a replacement (with newer firmware) from IRTrans?

No, we neither manufacture nor sell those OEM devices.
