I replicated your problem: With firmware version 6.08.42 RS232 is working but with the latest version there is an error. We will look into that and prepare a fixed version.

The new FW supports multiple RS232 ports. Therefore the port needs to be addressed. That is done using the LED Select.

Here are the ports:

RS232 cable connected to:

IR Input: External LED 3 (Numerical select; e.g. ASCII Client = 6)
IR Output: External LED 7 (Numerical select; e.g. ASCII Client = 10)

When you issue an send command to the IRTrans you can specify the output by using the LED parameter. For example:

snd mediacenter,play,l3 --> "l3" specifies output 3.

In your case you have to use output 3 if the RS232 cable is connected to the external receiver jack and output 7 if it is connected to the external transmitter jack. From what I see on your photos you seem to use the external transmitter jack so output 7 is the right choice.
