How to handle the press and hold a key?

Postby Santosh » Wed 13. Jul 2011, 06:20

My application is accessing Set Top Box (STB) via http request using IRTRANS. All the keyes are working fine. Now I got a new request to handle the situation of keep holding a particular key for some time. How to handle this scenario? Please help.

To send a key to STB my application uses the below URL.
http://192.168.0.32:80/send.htm?remote= ... d=external

moto is the database name/ remote name
RC_DOWNARRAOW is name of the key.

This request results in STB to process one down arrow key.

New requirement says keep pressed the down arrow for say 20 second.

If I hold the key down arrow pressed manully on remote. STB starts responding like the key is pressed multiple times.

Hi,
20s is a VERY long time.

With the GUI Client you can learn long key presses with the special option for that. That will work for up to around 4-5s.

Which firmware version does your IRTrans device have?

Hi,
that is only the SW version of the taskbar wrapper.

You can see the versions if you open the diagnostics window of the IR Server (IR Icon).
