Windows 7 fast scrolling

Postby rjairam » Thu 2. Sep 2010, 17:10

How do I get IRTrans to do the "fast scrolling" in Windows 7 media center? If I hold down the arrow buttons it does not fast scroll, it just scrolls normal speed.

It's on this page:

Thanks

Could you just explain, why not?
Is it, because the Remote sends a second code after some time or is this a build i MCE feature.

I'm missing this a lot, so I still use the "old" MS Infrarot receiver adittionally to the IRTrans Module.

Additional question:

When using just the IRTrans device (besides fastscrolling doesn't work) the responsiveness of the system is very poor.
Pushing a button an holding it scrolls in a frequency of 1 second.
Pushing it more often it can be faster (limited by my thumb speed).

Is this a problem of the Remote or a setup in IR Trans?

Hi,
fast scrolling is a feature that is only available with the MS IR Receiver because it is part of the driver for this receiver.

To increase the speed you can set the IR Timeout in the device settings to a smaller value (e.g. 15ms). Depending on the remote control even smaller values are possible.

What type of IRTrans device are you using and what type of IR remote control ?

So I'm setting the 90ms value to a 15ms value.
I'll give it a try.

I have two Devices one USB an one WLAn.
In this case it's the WLAN Model.
