Direct Control over IRTrans

Hi,

I would like to be able to control the Ethernet IRTrans directly using the ASCII interface however when I try, it says **00038 RESULT IR Database not loaded

I want to be able to learn and send codes directly to/from the iPhone without having to interact with windows or mac.

Is this possible?

Hi,
yes that is possible:

1. You need to have an IRTrans Device with IR Database (IRDB)
2. You need to learn the IR Codes using our PC Software
3. You need to upload them using the GUI Client

Then you can send them via UDP/TCP/http.

Can't I use the device without the pc client?

I just want to send a command that says learn, then have it return the info it learns to my iPhone application so I can send it back out again.

that is possible using the TCP ASCII Interface. Please have a look at the docs on our website.

Please note that this interface is only supported on IRDB Devices.
