Is there a way to start a program via the remote in apps.cfg or via some other method in IRTrans?

For example, I would like to start Windows Media Player by pressing a button on my remote.

Thanks

...there is!
I added that feature a long time ago, but it should still be working with the latest release.

Create a new remote solely for the keys you want to use to start your applications (e.g. shortcut).
Add the following to your apps.cfg file to change the type of your commands for that remote to SHORTCUT:

[APP]*
[ACTIVE]
[TYPE]SHORTCUT
[REMOTE]shortcut
[COMMANDS]
[END-COMMANDS]
[END-APP]

Learn your commands.
Create shortcuts in the remote folder to your applications and name them the same you named your commands.

e.g. if you learned a command "start_mediaplayer" your shortcut should be named "start_mediaplayer.lnk"

Cheers,
Christian.
