I would like to map a sequence of keys to be played upon pressing a button on the remote.

When I tried something like this in my APPS.CFG file, I noticed that it requires me to press the button in rapid succession to produce each keypress

YELLOW [KEY]\HOME[KEY]\DOWN[KEY]\DOWN[KEY]\RIGHT

So I tried something like this

GREEN [KEY]\HOME \DOWN \DOWN \RIGHT

but that didn't help. Do you support sending a string of keys on a button press, and if so, what is the syntax?

sending multiple keys through the apps.cfg is not supported.

You might try the small ir2keyboard program.
